Application and Guidelines


  • Applications must be received in the Catron County Extension Office no later than June 1st
  • Applications received after June 1st will be disqualified. NO EXCEPTIONS!
  • Applicants must be a Catron County 4-H or FFA member who is involved and active in the Catron County Fair
  • This scholarship is non-renewable
  • College or Creditable trade school are both acceptable
Scholarship Awards

  • Award notification will be given by mid-July and announced during the Catron County Fair
  • Applicant must provide proof of enrollment and correct mailing address for mailing the check 
  • Scholarship is a one year ( two semester) award, payable in $500.00 each semester

  • Letter written in resume form stating the number of years in 4-H and FFA, offices held, activities participated kin, other organizations they have been a member of, what college or trade school they plan to attend and what field of study they plan to major in
  • One page essay from the applicant of 350 words or less stating: the role being involved in 4-H and FFA has played in their leadership and career aspiration and achieving their life goals. The essay must be date and signed
  • Include three letters of reference from adult peers, one from someone affiliated with your fair or show
  • Applications can be hand delivered or mailed to:
