Catron County Fair Royalty Contest
At the heart of Catron County lies a deep commitment to our western heritage, our agricultural traditions, and each other. The Fair Royalty Contest exists to honor young women who embody these values: girls who understand that being part of this community means showing up, stepping forward, and representing something bigger than themselves.
When you compete for Fair Queen, Fair Princess, or Junior Miss, you're not just competing for a crown. You're stepping into a leadership role that matters. You'll become the face of the Catron County Fair, an ambassador who represents our county's spirit at community events, parades, and gatherings throughout the year. This is real responsibility paired with real support. We want you to grow through this experience, to build confidence, develop your voice, and forge connections with people who share your values. Yes, there's hard work involved. But there's also joy, celebration, and the chance to be part of something meaningful.
The contest itself celebrates what makes you unique. Whether you choose to showcase your horsemanship, present an agricultural demonstration, share your talents on stage, or shine in an interview, we want you to enjoy this time. Compete authentically, support your fellow contestants, and remember that you're representing a legacy of strong, dedicated young women from Catron County.
Who can compete? Any girl enrolled in grades 3-12 (public, private, or homeschool) can enter. We have three divisions: Fair Queen (grades 9-12, typically ages 14-18), Fair Princess (grades 6-8, typically ages 11-14), and Junior Miss (grades 3-5, typically ages 8-11).
Orientation is May 30th (morning in Quemado, afternoon in Reserve). The contest is June 27th, 2026. If you're ready to take on this leadership role and become part of our fair's tradition, we'd love to talk with you.
